Registrations lag for youth baseball and softball teams

Let’s face it, the weather lately hasn’t conjured up thoughts of baseball and softball, which is a problem for the New Hampton Parks and Recreation Department.That’s because the deadline for parents to sign up their kids is this Wednesday — yes, as in tomorrow — and the numbers are way down for the diamond programs offered to students who are in grades 2-7.— For more on this story, see the Feb. 26 New Hampton Tribune.
