Rita Troyna, age 93 of New Hampton, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Patty Elwood Center in Cresco.A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating.  Visitation was held at the church from 9 to 11 on Tuesday.  Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Ionia.  Online condolences for Rita’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, IA and/or Patty Elwood Center in Cresco, IA.  Arrangements are being handled by Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton.Rita Elizabeth Troyna was born on Jan. 18, 1923 to Andrew and Mary (Coleman) Drewelow in Fredericksburg. She attended and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1940.  On June 5, 1944 Rita was united in marriage to Milo G. Troyna at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia.  The couple `farmed together outside of New Hampton until their retirement.  After retiring, they spent much of their time traveling and enjoying their cabin in Menahga, Minn. Rita remained on the farm until moving to Kensington Manor in 2011, making her final move to Patty Elwood in May of this year. Rita was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Los Amigas Club in New Hampton.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and fishing.  Rita especially enjoyed her time with family and friends, making special memories with the children in her life.Rita’s survived by one sister, Ramona Campbell of Portland, OR; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milo Troyna; her sisters, Ruth, Rosemary, and Rosella and her brothers, Raymond, Robert and Roland.
