Rolling along

Lead Summary

A rainy Monday evening did not stop the New Hampton girls’ golf team from having a successful day. In fact, it may have helped, as the Chickasaws tied a school record for best team score with 166 at Decorah, while the Vikings totaled 221.
Not only did they tie this historic mark, but junior Allison Nuss broke her own school record for best nine-hole score by posting a 35.
“I was really surprised we played that good considering the weather. All the girls buckled down and got the job done. Nobody was thinking about a record. They were just trying to stay focused and grind it out!” New Hampton head girls’ golf coach Eric Olson said. “Allison played great in those conditions. She has been rock solid for us all season, and the weather doesn’t faze her. She made some great saves for par and got one birdie.”
