Rotary takes a trip down memory lane

Lead Summary

The calendar may say it’s 2018, but at least at the New Hampton Rotary Club meeting last week, it was 1985.“Well, I don’t know if I’d go that far,” said former University of Iowa quarterback Chuck Long, who spoke before a crowd of more than 60 Rotary members and their guests. “Trust me, I don’t feel 22, 23 anymore.”Long was in New Hampton to promote the book “Destined for Greatness: The Story of Chuck Long and Resurgence of Iowa Hawkeye Football” that was authored by Aaron Putze, the director of communications and external relations for the Iowa Soybean Association. The reality, though, was this was less a book promotion than it was a trip back in time.— For more on this story see the Nov. 20 New Hampton Tribune.
