Seven Chickasaws take positions on NEIC teams

Lead Summary

While at the plate, New Hampton’s Lauren Frerichs had the fifth-best batting average in Northeast Iowa Conference softball games this season, which helped her earn first team honors at the end of the Chickasaw campaign.    Frerichs was the only first team pick for the NH girls, but Kallie Olson, Emma Nicolaisen, Kaelyn Ambrose and Savannah Anderson were all named to the second team and Bailey Knowlton landed on the honorable mention squad.    “We did pretty good in our selections,” said coach Jack Seelhammer after his team finished fourth in the NEIC. “You always think you could have done a little better. But Lauren was very deserving of first team, both with her batting and her defense.”    Frerichs finished just under .500 for the season with a .492 average in conference games. She was third in runs scored in the NEIC with 22 and second with 32 hits.
