Hannah Holthaus laughed when she was asked about her match-ending reaction Tuesday night.
“Yeah, I kind of went a little crazy,” the Nashua-Plainfield junior said, “but when we were freshmen, to even thinking about winning a set in a playoff game was kind of a fantasy. And now hear we are.”
With an emphatic Holthaus service ace to end the match, here’s where the Huskies are: The Class 2A regional quarterfinals, where Nashua-Plainfield will host Denver next Tuesday night.
Not that Tuesday night was always easy as the Huskies dropped the first set before rallying for a 17-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 victory over West Fork.
The night started ominously for the Huskies, as West Fork’s Lindsey Petersen delivered kill after kill to lead the Warhawks to the first set win.
