TV’s ‘growing’ season ends

No. 8 Jesup stops young Trojans in district semifinals

It wasn’t the ending Turkey Valley was obviously seeking, but coach Dan Stepan focuses on the positive after the Trojans’ season came to an end on Thursday.That’s when eighth-ranked Jesup scored early and often on its way to a 13-1 victory over the Trojans in a Class 1A district semifinal game.“Jesup is good,” Stepan said after his team finished the season 13-22. “We would have to have been flawless to beat them tonight.”The J-Hawks plated runs in every inning and got a two-hitter from Ethan Wyant on their way to the win.Turkey Valley managed just two hits, which led to the Trojans’ lone run of the contest.More on the story may be found in the July 19 Tribune.
