Winter sports are underway

Basketball has started for area schools as New Hampton’s girls played at Nashua-Plainfield last night [Monday], while both the Turkey Valley girls and boys have a Jamboree under their belts.  But after the Thanksgiving break is when the schedule really starts to roll.    While the Chickasaw ninth grade basketball teams travel to Cedar Falls Monday, Nov. 28, the JV and varsity girls are at North Fayette Valley. The Chickasaw JV and varsity wrestlers have their opening competition the next night at Charles City, against Columbus Catholic and Independence.  New Hampton’s boys also begin Tuesday, Nov. 29 with a JV/varsity engagement against Cedar Rapids Washington at home.  All of Turkey Valley’s teams are in action Tuesday, Nov. 29 as the girls and boys JV and varsity basketball teams all play at West Central. The four games will be played in two gyms, with a starting time of 4:30.  Trojan wrestlers travel to Eldora for a match-up against Clarksville, North Butler and the host South Hardin school.
