Spotlight on youth art

Lead Summary

Saturday morning at 11 a.m. was a busy time for Nashua-Plainfield parents. In Nashua, junior high students were performing the musical they had rehearsed all week with a visiting theater company. So having an estimated 40 people visiting the Carnegie Cultural Center in New Hampton was even more impressive for the overlapping opening of the “Snapshots from NP” student art exhibit, featuring the students of art teacher Dan Falco during the last week of National Youth Art Month. There was a steady crowd throughout and “a real beehive of activity” toward 1 p.m., agreed Carnegie volunteer Nancy Scherer and Director Jill Eike. The Carnegie aims to serve as a museum for all of Chickasaw County, and bring in new people, Eike said, and that the display will be up through Sunday, April 7.— For more on this story, see the April 2 New Hampton Tribune and April 4 Nashua Reporter.
