Steeple Day set for Sunday in Lourdes

Lourdes Steeple Day is fast approaching and the committee is continously working on the variety of events they have that will be sure to please the whole family.This year marks the 18th annual Lourdes Steeple Day on Sunday, July 31 and it will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake and sausage breakfast that lasts until 10:30 a.m.The polka mass will be officiated by the new pastor, Father Mark Murphy. Father Steve Garner, who was the pastor for four years, has been reassigned to St. Mathew’s parish in Cedar Rapids. The band for the mass will be the Leo Meitner Band and will begin playing at 9 a.m. followed by a visit to the OLL Stone City cemetery at 10 a.m. for an appreciation of our forefathers who sacrificed much.— For more on this story, see the July 26 Tribune
