Travis Lee Rasing, age 34 of Lime Springs, formerly of New Hampton, died Sunday Oct. 30, 2016 at his home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Holy Family Parish, New Hampton with Rev. Brian Dellaert celebrating the Mass.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton with Garrett Shekleton, Shane Shekleton, Lee Rethamel, Michael Rasing, Curtis Rasing, Michael Wiegmann and Brad Willman as pallbearers.Friends may greet the family 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton where there will be a 7:30 p.m. parish scripture service. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Online condolences for Travis' family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.comTravis Lee Rasing was born June 15, 1982 in Waverly, the son of Kenneth and Shari (Rethamel) Rasing. He attended New Hampton Public Schools and was a 2001 graduate of New Hampton High School. While in high school he was active in track, football and wrestling. Travis was a 215 lb state qualifier in wrestling his senior year and a member of the 1999 New Hampton High School state championship football team. Travis also enjoyed the boy scouts, completing the brick patio at the Heritage residence in New Hampton as his Eagle Scout Project.After high school Travis went on to Ellsworth Community College to receive a certificate in construction. After completion he moved to Charles City and worked for Henkel Construction out of Mason City. Travis was known as the hardest worker on the crew and was always the first one on the job sight. It was in Charles City that he met Jessica Engels. The couple were married on Feb. 3, 2006. He recently had moved to Lime Springs.Travis loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He adored his children and cherished the time he spent with them. Travis was always smiling while he was with them and they loved goofing around together, especially when traveling to the children’s sporting events.Travis is survived by his wife, Jessica Rasing; children, Skylar, Cameron, Ramsey, Haylie all of Rockford; parents, Ken and Shari Rasing of New Hampton; two brothers, Jacob (Britney) Rasing of New Hampton, and Blake (Stephanie Swanson) Rasing of Chicago, Ill; grandparents, Leo and Rita Rasing of New Hampton, and Alice Rethamel of New Hampton; mother-in-law Pam Engels of Charles City; aunts and uncles, Sheila (Greg) Shekleton, Sandi (Ken) Honts, Bill (Denise) Rethamel, Joyce Rasing, Karen (Duane) Schwickerath, Linda Woodruff, Jim Rasing, Kevin (Peney) Rasing and Bob Rasing; niece and nephew Kaydence and Brock Rasing.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Merle Rethamel; uncles, Melvin Rasing, Scott Woodruff and Mark Rethamel; father-in-law, Pat Engels.
