Tribune, Reporter welcomes new sports editor to the fold

Lead Summary

Eighteen months after longtime New Hampton Tribune Sports Editor Dorothy Huber made it known that she wanted to cut down to “part-time,” she’s finally getting her wish with the newspaper’s hiring of a recent University of Northern Iowa graduate.
Nate DeBondt began work on Tuesday as the Tribune’s sports editor, and Huber will transition into her role as both a sports and news assistant over the next month.
“We’re excited for a couple of reasons,” Tribune Editor Bob Fenske said. “First, Nate’s a great find for us, and we know he’s going to really grow into this job. Second, Dorothy’s staying, and she’s been such a valuable part of our staff for so long, we can’t imagine not having her here.”
DeBondt, with assistance from Huber, will cover New Hampton and Turkey Valley sports for the Tribune and also take over some of the reporting for Nashua-Plainfield teams for the Tribune’s sister publication, the Nashua Reporter.
