Trojan girls pick up UIC win

Lead Summary

Both teams had a nice 1-2 punch as Turkey Valley’s girls played at North Fayette Valley Tuesday.
But Turkey Valley’s was bigger.
With 20 points by Katlyn Baumler and 14 by Kara Reicks, the Trojan girls trumped the best scores by North Fayette of 17 and 15 points —  just barely — but that’s the type of game it was. Turkey Valley went to .500 with the 48-45 victory.
“Earned a really tough conference road win,” Trojan coach Carla Nymeyer said. “NFV is always a scrappy team that fights ’til the end and tonight was no exception. We knew we would have to come ready with intensity and toughness and our girls brought it.”
