Trojan golfers get rare nice day on the course

Lead Summary

Boots would have come in handy as Turkey Valley's golfers were competing Thursday on their home turf.  Not to mention hats, gloves, winter coats, maybe? The Trojans played a coed meet against North Fayette Valley with temperatures in the mid 40s and blustery northwest winds.  "Despite the horrific weather conditions, the TV golfers played pretty decent, all things considered," began coach John Reicks. "The saturated grounds made the course play very long, but the kids handled the adversity very well."  The next night was a boys-only engagement against Crestwood, where better conditions led to a season-low 194 by the Trojans in a loss to the Cadets.  On Thursday North Fayette Valley, a 3A team, disposed of the 1A Trojan boys 175-233.  "Playing short-handed because of injuries and a track meet, the boys still shot okay for the most part."  For all of the Turkey Valley scores, please see the April 25 Tribune.
