Trojans knock off ranked foe to remain unbeaten

Lead Summary

Turkey Valley made sure Midland Wyoming’s size advantage didn’t come into play — at least at the start — and built a 38-14 halftime lead on its way to a 46-36 victory over its opponent Friday.
The Eagles’ size gave Turkey Valley coach Mark Scott cause for a concern as the Eagles, who were ranked in several eight-man polls, went 215, 315, 230, 305 and 180 pounds across the line and, for good measure, Midland also has a 215-pound quarterback.
But Eli Reicks, who ran for 117 yards on just eight carries, scored on Turkey Valley’s first play from scrimmage when he dashed 47 yards for a touchdown and when Ethan Leibold scored on a two-point conversion run, the Trojans had an 8-0 lead.
More details on the Trojan win may be found in the Sept. 11 Tribune.
