Trojans sweep MFL-Mar-Mac

Lead Summary

Remember the old commercials “this is what your brain looks like on drugs?”
Turkey Valley Dan Stepan used a similar approach when he sent box scores on the Trojan baseball team’s early-week games.
After Monday 10-0 and 8-0 wins over MFL, the coach said, “This is what a box score looks like when you do all three phases of the game well.”
In game one, while Jordon Snyder was pitching a five-inning four hitter with five strikeouts — and not walking a single batter — Turkey Valley backed him up with errorless defense and an offense that used 10 hits to score 10 runs.
Cale Reicks was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Simon Schmitt drove in four runs while going 2-for-3 with a double and Elliott Dietzenbach was also 2-for-3 and batted in two.
With the win, the Trojans avenged a 15-0 loss that came in the second game of the season, but that was a non-conference and this one counted. So too did the second-game, 8-0 win pitched by Cale Reicks, in which the Trojan senior sent 11 batters down on strikeouts.
