Trojans take care of the basketball

Lead Summary

Turkey Valley's overall shooting percentage was nothing to write home about as the Trojans were defeating Tripoli Thursday, 51-35.  In all shots taken, the winners made baskets at a 33 percent clip. But single the 3-point percentage out, and that was outstanding at 64 percent. And Levi Izer's 6-for-8 effort [75 percent] led the way.  “Tonight we got off to a quick start in a large part to Levi's hot shooting from behind the arc,” said coach Chris Sullivan. “He really gave us that spark we needed from the get-go and got us a nice lead after one quarter.”  The Trojans led 19-8 after the first stanza, but only scored eight points in the second.  “In the second quarter we were getting the same good looks but we weren't connecting and we struggled to finish around the rim,” Sullivan said.  For the full story, please see the Dec. 20 Tribune.
