Turkey Valley homecoming festivities switched to Thursday

Lead Summary

It’s definitely going to be a different kind of homecoming this year at Turkey Valley as its Friday night football opponent — Central Elkader — announced Monday that it will forfeit the game to the Trojans because it will not have enough players.    That means the homecoming king and queen will be crowned Thursday night in between the junior varsity and varsity matches during a volleyball home date with Postville.
There will also be a “tailgate meal” that will start at 3:30 p.m. in the school and will run through the night or until all the food is gone. For $5 a pork sandwich, cheesy potatoes, baked beans and a drink will be served.
