Warriors compete in their largest meet of the season

Lead Summary

It felt a little more like fall when South Winn ran at the North Linn Invitational Saturday, as the temperature was 45 degrees on the Troy Mills course. At least it was sunny and calm.    South Winn's girls were fourth of 19 teams and the varsity boys were sixth of 23 teams as nearly 600 high school runners raced between the varsity and the JV.    "This was the biggest meet we run in during the regular season," said coach Kevin Kearney. "There were nearly a dozen ranked teams on both the boys and girls side.  Both of our teams placed about as well as they were capable of on Saturday.”    Jordon Snyder returned after missing the last meet and he celebrated with his best time of his career at 17:34, while coming in 30th of 157 runners.   For all of the Turkey Valley results, please see the Oct. 11 Tribune.
