In a word, dominating

New Hampton got off to a fast start Tuesday in its season opener against Nashua-Plainfield.
The Chickasaws also had a fast “middle.” And they closed out the night with a flourish.
To put it simply, it was a dominating performance as New Hampton cruised to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-10 non-conference victory.
“I liked the way we came out and the way we, and I don’t want this to sound bad, didn’t play down to our competition,” New Hampton coach Jess Geerts said. “Nashua’s a young team, and I think you saw that a little tonight, but we didn’t relax, we didn’t let up, and that’s something I really wanted to see.”
The Chickasaws jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first set and never really looked back.
A Rachel Rinken kill ended the set and was just a harbinger for the second set as she recorded three kills and a block to help New Hampton stake a 7-2 lead.
